Interior and exterior painting, wallpapering, and full property redecorations — carried out to the same high standard as our kitchen and bathroom installations. Clean, careful work with a finish you'll notice.
A fresh coat of paint sounds simple. The difference between a DIY job and a professional one is in the preparation — filling, sanding, priming, masking — and the quality of the finish when that's all done.
Thomas & Phipps brings the same attention to detail to painting and decorating as we do to our kitchens and bathrooms. Whether it's a single room refresh or a full external repaint, we do it properly — no cutting corners, no drips, no mess left behind.
Ceilings, walls, woodwork, and doors — painted with care and precision. Proper prep, quality paint, clean edges. Rooms that look better than you imagined.
Render, masonry, timber fascias, soffits, and guttering — prepared and painted to stand up to the Shropshire weather. Protect your property and refresh its appearance.
Pattern matching, straight drops, and feature wall hangs — done without bubbles, seams, or misaligned repeats. We work with all wallpaper types including vinyls and lincrusta.
Skirting boards, architraves, window frames, stair spindles, and doors — painted or stained to a smooth, lasting finish. Often the detail that makes a room look truly finished.
The areas most people avoid doing themselves — high ceilings, stairwell drops, intricate spindles. We have the access equipment and experience to do these properly.
Moving in? Ready for a change? We can redecorate an entire property from top to bottom — efficiently managed, minimal disruption, and a consistent quality finish throughout.
Good decorating is 80% preparation and 20% paint. Here's how we make sure the finish lasts.
We come and look at the work, discuss your colour choices and any preparation needed, and provide a clear written quote with no hidden extras.
Filling cracks and holes, sanding back rough areas, treating any damp patches, and applying the right primer. This is the stage that determines the quality of the final finish.
Floors, carpets, furniture, and fittings protected before we pick up a brush. We treat your home with the same care we'd want for our own.
Coats applied at the correct intervals for the product being used. Edges cut in cleanly, woodwork done separately, pattern repeats matched precisely.
Second coats where needed, any touch-up work identified and addressed, all masking removed carefully.
Full clean-up before we leave. We walk through the work with you and only consider the job done when you're completely happy with it.
There's no shortage of people who'll paint a room. Finding someone who'll do it properly — show up on time, prepare the surfaces correctly, tidy up after themselves, and produce a finish that lasts — is harder than it should be.
We've built our reputation in Bridgnorth on exactly that. Our painting and decorating work is held to the same standard as everything else we do. We don't cut corners, we don't rush, and we won't leave until the job is right.
A standard bedroom or reception room — walls, ceiling, and woodwork — typically costs between £250 and £500 depending on the size of the room, the condition of the surfaces, and how much preparation work is needed. Rooms that haven't been decorated in many years, or that have significant cracks or damaged plaster, will cost more due to the prep time involved. We always provide a written quote before any work begins so you know exactly what you're getting.
We're happy to share our experience and point you in the right direction. We work with all the major paint brands — Farrow & Ball, Little Greene, Dulux, Crown, and Johnstone's Trade — and can advise on what works well in different light conditions and room sizes. That said, the final choice is always yours. We'll paint whatever colour you've decided on, and we'll make sure it looks its best.
A typical room — walls, ceiling, and woodwork — takes 1 to 2 days depending on the level of preparation needed and the number of coats required. A full property redecoration is typically planned over several days or weeks depending on the size of the house. We give you a realistic schedule upfront and keep to it.
We'll work around your furniture where possible — moving items to the centre of the room and covering them with dustsheets is standard practice. For larger pieces that can't be moved, we'll mask and protect them in place. We discuss this at the survey stage so nothing is left to chance on the day.
Either works. We can supply paint and materials — we have trade accounts and use products we know to be reliable — or we can work with paint you've already purchased. If you've already bought your paint, we'll let you know if we have any concerns about the product before work starts. Our quotes make it clear whether materials are included or supplied by the customer.
Yes. We paint rendered and masonry exteriors, timber fascias, soffits, bargeboards, and garage doors. Exterior work is weather-dependent and we'll always schedule it appropriately to avoid painting in conditions that would compromise the finish. A properly applied exterior paint system, on well-prepared surfaces, should last 5–10 years depending on the product and exposure.
Fill in the form and we'll get back to you promptly — usually same day.
